Saving Or Republic/Democracy

I have not heard one Presidential Candidate tell us what they would do about the government debt. They all say what the government can do for us and should do for us. Some complain that the government is too big and ineffective. Some will even admit that it is corrupt.

There is a simple fix……..balance the budget. It did not get this expensive overnight and any fix will not happen real soon. Both political parties are to blame. We could start with spending 5% less every year until it was balanced. Citizens have had to get by with less every year, why can’t the government do the same.

They will tell us that Social Security is going broke, but defense and welfare programs never go broke.

A brave leader in Argentina is doing this with some success, he has cut inflation in half. Why cant we do that here?

I think the people who would suffer the most are the politicians who throw our tax dollars to all of their political friends. If they had less money to pass around they would have less power over us. We would be able to keep more of our money to spend or save and the private economy would get bigger instead of the government. Problem solved………….and then I woke up.
